The latest pair comes courtesy of a collaboration with Athens skate shop Color Skates. Seen through a set of product shots, the Color Skates x Nike SB Dunk High uses one of Greek’s staple foods, the gyro kebab, as its inspiration. There’s bits of tan suede to represent the pita, red laces and Swooshes signifying tomato, and a dollop of tzatziki on the toe box. There’s also brown elephant print at the heel hinting at the sandwich’s meat component. Nike SB just is back with another dunk high that draws inspiration from a bygone time when skate videos were recorded on VHS tapes and viewed on analog TVs. Featuring a high-top features a white leather base with contrasting black suede overlays and a matching black Swoosh in glossy patent leather. A lenticular multicolor print enlivens the quarter panel and collar, mimicking a failed signal on a vintage CRT television set. Daniel Kim’s skate brand Stingwater is crossing over into the world of footwear, teaming up with Nike SB to release a collaborative take on the Dunk Low. Known for its playful graphics, Stingwater has applied unconventional branding to the side of the Dunks, just above a jeweled Swoosh. On the heels, you will find "NIKE" branding embroidered in reverse. The phrase "empty your mind" is stitched behind the tongue as a reminder to search for a new perspective, marking the hidden zip pocket that is also implemented on the tongue.
